Jaime Nuñez del Arco

Formerly known as MONO, lives in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Besides his design/illustration work for commercial companies as well as for cultural institutions, he is a writer, teacher and mastermind of design/art projects.

Internationally, Jaime has worked for the likes of Tokion Magazine (Japan), TOCA ME (Germany), PLACE Project (Spain), Upper Playground and Fifty24SF (USA). He has been recognized at his country with awards from the International Biennal of Graphic Design and Infusion Fest, recently appearing in the books Latinamerican Graphic Design and Logo Design 2 (Taschen) as well as in publications like Celeste and BabyBabyBaby (Mexico), Faesthetic (USA), Page (Germany), Amasté (Spain),
3www (Japan) and BG (Ecuador).

Throughout the years, he has developed various (many times self-funded) projects. Some of them are: TOMALA!, the first publication devoted to Latinamerican designers+artists; ECUADOR CREATIVE LABS (now MUCA), talks/workshops with international designers and MONOTONO RECORDS, music label for independent latinamerican electronic artists.
